I was working for a multinational World wide operating British manufacturer called Weir
Minerals. Weir Minerals is the world leader at manufacturing heavy duty equipment for
metals miners worldwide. Major products - slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, valves, screens,
crushers, high pressure grinders. Weir has been manufacturing water handling and
mining equipment for over 150 years, employing 15 000 employees at 70 countries.
It had been my job to develop & expand business into new geographies.
This included for establishing and starting representative entities/branches of the Weir
business in the following territories :
- Czechia /Slovakia (1992)
- Romania (1993)
- Ukraine (1995 , today 30 employees)
- Kazakhstan & Central Asia (2014, today 160 employees)
- Serbia (2018)
- Uzbekistan (2019)
The branches have been engaged at the both, sales of new equipment and aftermarket.
At all of these countries we established and grew business YOY of 50 %.
